Multiply the fuel consumption rate per hour by the number of hours you expect the generator to run to estimate the total fuel consumption. For example, if a diesel generator has a fuel tank capacity of 100 liters and has been running for 10 hours, and you have used 50 liters of fuel during that time period, the fuel consumption rate per hour would be 5 liters (50 liters ÷ 10 hours). If you expect the generator to run for another 20 hours, the estimated total fuel consumption would be 100 liters (5 liters per hour x 20 hours).
